Charles R. Harkins, CPA
Mr. Harkins earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wyoming in 1975. He then joined the Denver accounting firm Ernst and Whinney (now Ernst and Young) as a member of their audit staff. His responsibilities included planning, supervising, and reviewing audits of large, publicly held corporations, non-profit entities, national insurance companies, and government entities.
In 1980, Mr. Harkins joined Fox and Company in Casper as audit coordinator and, in 1983, opened his own firm in Casper. His audit clients have included non-profit corporations, church districts, local government entities, water and sewer districts, and other for-profit corporations.
In January of 1999, he merged his practice with Ted C. Grooms, CPA, P.C., to form Grooms & Harkins, P.C.
Mr. Harkins earned his CPA certificate in 1975. He is a member of the Wyoming Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is past chairman of the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants Public Relations Committee. Mr. Harkins is also a member of the finance committee of the Diocese of Cheyenne and is a member of the finance council of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper. He serves as a board member on the St. Anthony's Tri-Parish School Foundation.
