Our Books Were a Mess.
We Needed Real Help.
There are many reasons businesses choose a third-party to do their accounting. Sometimes it's because businesses are too small to have the need and resources for a full-time, internal accounting department. And many times it's because businesses have a hard time keeping trained employees. The later was the case for a local non-profit. With around 40 employees, they had a sizable workforce, but staff turnover left their bookkeeping department in disarray.
When it came time to perform the annual audit, the auditors had no choice but to postpone. The non-profit's books were such a mess that there was no way the auditors could deliver a clean opinion. That's when Grooms & Harkins stepped in.
The auditors referred the client to us, and we worked with the non-profit's bookkeeping department to go through all of the old monthly reports and generate a completely new set of books. The result got them through the audit without any problems.
After the audit, the company retained our services so we could review the books on an ongiong basis. Members of our staff also worked with the client to train their employees, so they would eventually be able to take over the duties without any problems.
